ECOC 2014 Call for Papers New deadline
submission of papers
The Technical Programme Committee encourages submission of original, unpublished, clear, accurate, and relevant papers in any of the topic areas listed in the Technical Scope page. Authors should submit their papers via the online submission system by the deadline extended to Friday 25 April at 08:59 am, CEST (time of Cannes). Templates will be available online. Authors must agree to the copyright conditions available as part of the online submission process.
All papers will be peer reviewed by the Technical Programme Committee, which reserves the right to accept or reject any paper. Authors may express their preference for either oral and poster presentation, but the final decision will be made by the Technical Programme Committee.
Student authors presenting a paper at ECOC 2014 can compete for the Best Student Paper Award, which will be attributed during the conference. They should apply upon submitting their work.
The accepted papers will be published as part of the Technical Digest, complete with ISBN reference number and available to all conference delegates. After the conference, the accepted papers will be referenced on widely-distributed scientific databases and can be downloaded from there.
Authors from the most highly ranked papers will be invited to publish an extended version of their work into a special issue of Journal of Lightwave Technology, after the conference.
TOPICAL AREAS (ECOC 2014)
are categorised in 7 topic areas listed in the Technical Scope Page. The Technical Programme Committee encourages authors to carefully read the new descriptions of 2014 when allocating their work into one of these areas, and informs them that it may use its right to relocate any paper in a more relevant one.
SPECIAL CLEO FOCUS: FUNDAMENTAL PHOTONICS FOR FUTURE TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Following on from successful conferences held since 2006, the European Physical Society and CLEO Europe-EQEC in collaboration with the Chairs of ECOC 2014 are delighted to announce the organisation of a special CLEO Focus Meeting on Fundamental Photonics for Future Telecommunications, to be held as part of ECOC 2014.
Within the themes of this meeting, new developments and trends are explored that have strong potential for identifying forward-looking and emerging research directions relevant to optical communications, but which would not yet be suitable for submission to regular ECOC technical committees. The meeting will showcase state of the art results in areas aiming to bridge the gap between basic science and applications.
Topics include, but are not limited to nanophotonics, nonlinear optics, novel materials, novel devices, nonlinear dynamics, quantum optics, emerging ultrafast technologies, new concepts in optical manipulation and guidance etc.
The deadline for submission of papers is, as for ECOC, extended to Friday 25 April at 08:59 am, CEST (time of Cannes). Papers must be submitted using the ECOC 2014 online paper submission procedure.
